Pileated Woodpecker seen in backyard ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------   This is a really big bird! -and he gets that bark flying. This bird cheers one up in the middle of winter. Sorry about background sound of tv.

Flood: Video 1 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Small stream in back of our yard turned to raging torrent by extremely heavy and long rainfall during March of 2011.    I've never seen it this bad-not even with a hurricane.

Flood: Video 2 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------  Another video of this stream that got so swollen from a steady, hard, all day rain.   It was incredible to see the water storming down.   This video taken a bit closer-but the stream was, fortunately, far enough from the back of my house, not to reach the house.

Alligators!! Too many of them!   -------------------------------------------------------------------------------     No. these alligators weren't on the golf course. They were on an alligator farm in St. Augustine.    However, I did see a few alligators on the golf courses. Some signs there said, "Keep away from alligators and snakes."  Duh! That's a no-brainer.

Alligators!! Just leave them alone. ----------------------------------------------------------------------   Alligators are either motionless or looking for food. Well-feed alligators will generally speaking, not mess with you if you don't mess with them.   I still might not take a small dog around them. That might be too tempting.

This is a big guy! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------  Storks really are big birds. How else could they carry babies?   In Florida, one can see many interesting exotic birds -but I like the storks the best.

Big Snake! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------  This is a python -or maybe it's a boa. For sure, it's a big snake!  The snake was viewed at a St. Augustine alligator farm.   I have read that there have been problems with too many boas in the Everglades in Florida-but I'm not sure if this particular snake is there.

Macaw! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------   The macaw is a beautiful bird. They are also extremely loud!   I had a chat with this macaw at a zoo in St. Augustine, Florida.

Two-toned Swan ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------   I really liked this two-toned swan. A car might look good with these colors.   I like the black swans also.   Seen at an alligator farm in St. Augustine. They weren't anywhere near the alligators.
